The official contact page lists Monday–Friday 10:00–16:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00–17:00, Thailand time. Confirm any date-specific announcements before travelling.

Suggested visit duration

Allow approximately 1.5–2 hours for the aquarium, plus time to reach it inside the zoo. Plan additional time separately if you also want to explore the zoo.

Best time to visit

Arrive near opening time if combining the aquarium with the zoo. Exhibits are indoors, but reaching them involves moving through the zoo grounds. Bring water and rain protection when needed.

Why visit Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium?

Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium is located inside the city zoo. Its freshwater and marine displays occupy two levels. The operator describes two tunnels with a combined length of 133 metres, divided between freshwater and saltwater habitats. This guide covers the aquarium; zoo admission is separate.

What to look forward to

Walk through the display tunnels and explore Mekong freshwater fish and marine exhibits. Take time at individual tanks for photographs and species information. Displays and activities may change; check the programme for your visit date.
